The teams will be provided with templates to help them develop professional business plans:
• Executive summary template (limited to 2 pages)
• Business plan template (limited to 30 pages)
• Presentation template (limited to 15 slides)
Samples and other resources.
Application
All candidates are required to fill a detailed application. The application is divided into the following sections:
• Personal information
• Education
• Professional experience
• Skills: technical and non-technical skills
CVs can be requested in addition to the applications.
Content details
All materials should be typed and double-spaced, #12 font, and 1-1-1-1 inch margins of text.
The Business plan must have the following distinct sections:
» An executive summary (should not exceed 2 pages)
» The business plan (should not exceed 25 pages)
» Team resume booklet (each individual’s resume should not exceed 2 pages)
» Detailed spreadsheets and appropriate appendixes may follow the text portion of the plan (should not exceed 5 pages)
Financial data should include a cash flow statement, income statement, and balance sheet. It should include too an explanation of the offering to investors indicating how much money is required, how it will be used, and the proposed structure of the deal, i.e., stock, debentures, etc. The team is not required to reveal its desired deal, although the judges may ask questions about it. Also, delineate the possible exit strategies.
Executive summaries round
Teams are encouraged to submit executive summaries before the deadline to be evaluated by organizers’ staff. Feedback will be provided to improve the quality of submitted summaries before sending them to the jury.
The jury will evaluate selected two teams from each participating country and invite them to semifinals in Bucharest, October 5, 2007 with all costs for travel and accommodation covered.
Semifinal round
Deadline: September 15, 2007
Invited teams are encouraged to submit Power point presentation.
Competition in Bucharest
Teams will make power point presentations in front of jury, guests and open audience.
Jury will pick the two winning teams which will receive USD20,000 and USD10,000 respectively and will be invited to the finals in Berkeley, USA, with all travel and accommodation costs covered. There will be other prizes by event’s sponsors and audience.

Notes:
1. Total size of all soft copy documents shall not exceed 10 MB.
2. Teams that submit incomplete materials for each stage will be automatically disqualified.
3. All documents sent should be final and on time. No late submission shall be accepted. |
